Vande Bharat Express: Indian Railways to introduce semi-high speed train in Rajasthan

Good news for rail commuters! Indian Railways is set to launch another Vande Bharat Express for Rajasthan. The North Western Railway (NWR) zone will run and maintain this semi-high-speed train. The train will speed up transit between cities and improve the passenger experience.

In the current fiscal year, the national transporter has introduced two modern trains for the state. Both the Ajmer-Delhi Cantonment Vande Bharat Express and the Jodhpur-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express fall under this category.

This new blue and white colour train will run between Udaipur and Jaipur. The train consists of eight coaches. These include TSMC-04, TSTC-02, and DTC-02 (CC). It will feature two different seating configurations: an executive chair car and an AC chair car.

The train will cover 430 kilometres in six hours. This train will travel the distance more quickly than the Kavi Guru Express and Udaipur-Jaipur Superfast Special. The same distance is travelled by both trains in 06:55 and 07:10 hours, respectively.

The Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express would halt at five railway stations along the way. These are Kishangarh, Mavli Junction, Chanderiya, Bhilwara, and Ajmer Junction.

The new Vande Bharat Express, which runs between Udaipur City and the pink city, includes a high-rise pantograph. This will be the world’s second high-speed passenger train operating on high-rise overhead electric (OHE) lines.
