The PMC may shortly approve the DPR for the Khadakwasla to Hadapsar metro

At the upcoming general body meeting, Pune Municipal Corporation may vote to adopt the detailed project report for the Khadakwasla to Hadapsar metro route.

According to Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, the next general body meeting of the PMC may approve the detailed project report (DPR) of the proposed Khadakwasla to Hadapsar metro route. After the Pune Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (PUMTA) meeting, when numerous transport projects were addressed, he made these statements.

“We discussed various projects including metro projects. The PUMTA has already given its nod to the metro from Khadakwasla to Hadapsar. Since the PUMTA has already approved it, the PMC will give its nod to the DPR in the next few days. After getting the general body’s nod, the PMC will be able to submit the proposal to the state government,” Kumar said on Monday.

Once the state government has given the project its green signal, it must also receive approval from the Centre, which is co-sponsoring the project’s funding along with the Maharashtra government and the PMC.

According to Kumar, the Tata Group and Maha Metro have both expressed interest in building a metro line from Khadakwasla to Hadapsar. With both agencies interested in developing the Khadakwasla to Hadapsar metro route, the PMC would need to take a call on the same, a civic official said. According to him, elected officials believe that the Tata Group should handle the work so that it might be completed quickly.
