Navi Mumbai Inaugurates First Metro Line: Comprehensive Details on Timings, Ticket Prices, Routes and More

MUMBAI (Metro Rail & Steel): Navi Mumbai’s much-anticipated metro services are set to roll out today, November 17, marking the inauguration of the 11-kilometer-long elevated Metro Rail Line 1 that links Belapur and Pendhar. The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), the state-run planning authority, confirmed the launch.

Expressing his delight, the Chief Minister commended the commencement of metro services, emphasizing the Maharashtra government’s directive to CIDCO to expedite the project for the citizens of Navi Mumbai. The services are set to begin without an official public inauguration.

“The metro services will significantly enhance connectivity within Navi Mumbai. Our goal is to establish a robust metro network in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. CIDCO’s efficient implementation of the metro network in Navi Mumbai is commendable,” stated a representative from the government.

Details of Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 Operations-

Services start from November 17 between Pendhar to Belapur Terminal and Belapur Terminal to Pendhar, operating from 3 pm to 10 pm. Starting November 18, services will run from 6 am to 10 pm with a frequency of 15 minutes in both directions.

Fare Structure for Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1-

₹10 for 0 to 2 KM

₹15 for 2 to 4 KM

₹20 for 4 to 6 KM

₹25 for 6 to 8 KM

₹30 for 8 to 10 KM

₹40 for distances beyond 10 KM

The Belapur to Pendhar metro route encompasses 11 stations, featuring the depot situated at Taloja Panchanand. Although the metro route had been completed and certified for operations previously, the state government awaited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inauguration, which led to the delay in its public launch.
