By the end of this year, Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) aims to have the driverless metro running. Preparations are being made for it.
The train, which runs under the Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) system, was launched in Delhi. Later it was started in Mumbai as well. The Bangalore branch of Bharat Artha Movers supplies the Mumbai Metro Corporation. A driverless metro train would be introduced by Chennai Metro Corporation the following month.
The Yellow line of our Metro Phase is where BMRCL has set the goal of operating a driverless metro. The yellow section of this route, which connects Road, Bommsandra, and Electronic City, is 99% complete, and metro train service will begin in August. The current ‘Distance to Go’ (DTG) system’s loco-piloted metros will operate instead of the driverless metros.
“There is a plan to make driverless metro travel on the new lines of our metro. However, it is still under review. The driverless metro procurement process should be done. Will travel later. It will take some time, “Metro Public Relations Officer Yashwant Chavan informed.
