UTTAR PRADESH: In a bid to enhance passenger experience and explore new avenues of revenue, the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is introducing unique initiatives that connect with the people in novel ways. Among these innovative ventures are birthday parties hosted in metro coaches and facilitating pre-wedding and movie shoots on station premises. The UPMRC’s “celebration on wheels” concept has been met with resounding approval from both Lucknow Metro and Kanpur Metro riders.
The accolades continue to pour in for the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, as it was honored with the ‘Award of Excellence in Public Transport’ in the ‘Metro Rail with Best Passenger Services and Satisfaction’ category for Lucknow Metro. This recognition was received on the concluding day of the Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference 2023 in New Delhi, further cementing UPMRC’s commitment to passenger satisfaction.
With the success and recognition, UPMRC is encouraging the public to embrace the mass rapid transit system as a versatile “mobile venue” for their special moments. Lucknow Metro, which now spans 23 km and boasts several pioneering features, has been particularly innovative with the introduction of birthday parties hosted in metro coaches, a concept that has gained immense popularity since the Kanpur Metro’s inauguration in December 2021.
