Dubai Metro has introduced an express service on its Red Line, allowing passengers to travel from Al Rashidiya to Jebel Ali in just 35 minutes, a significant reduction from the standard 50-minute journey. The express service will only stop at major stations, catering to commuters who need a faster option for long-distance travel within the city.
This initiative is part of Dubai’s commitment to enhancing public transport and reducing road congestion. The new service includes state-of-the-art trains with higher speed capabilities and additional seating capacity. Passengers can also enjoy amenities like free Wi-Fi and charging ports, aimed at attracting more riders to public transport.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has indicated that if the express service proves successful, it may introduce similar services on other lines. By offering faster travel options, the RTA hopes to encourage more residents to choose the metro over personal vehicles, supporting the city’s sustainability goals.
