The Purple Line of the Bengaluru metro could be fully ready by August

In a race against time to complete the missing links at Beniganahalli on Old Madras Road and at Challaghatta on Mysuru Road, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is hopeful that the Purple Line would be completely operational by August.

The Purple Line, the first route through which Namma Metro entered the city, was initially scheduled to be completed in July but was delayed due to technical issues. However, progress on the two unfinished segments, which total more than 4 kilometres, is currently being accelerated. When complete, the Purple Line will be a 43.5-km route connecting Challaghatta and Whitefield (Kadugodi), which will facilitate and speed up travel between the eastern and western portions of the city.
