Phase II of the Chennai Metro will be completed by 2027

In the Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) phase II project, the 4-km elevated section between St. Thomas Mount and Adambakkam is projected to be finished in 2027. This section of the project, which aims at enhancing transportation around the city, is a part of Corridor 5, one of the three corridors.

Since it will benefit a sizable portion of the local population, CMRL officials stress the significance of finishing this segment as soon as possible. The narrow and crowded roadways, as well as the existence of structures adjacent to the alignment, make it difficult to build this short segment.
