The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has prolonged the suspension of Namma Metro’s Purple Line metro services.
The BMRCL had already announced the suspension of metro services from 5 am to 7 am between Baiyappanahalli and S V Road Metro Station and Krishnarajapura to Whitefield (Kadugodi) until August 9 (Wednesday), in order to permit the completion of signalling and other related works between Baiyappanahalli and K R Pura.
Train services between Kengeri and Vijayanagara Stations would be halted from 5 am to 7 am in order to complete signalling and related work from Kengeri to Challaghatta (on Mysuru Road). Train services between Baiyappanahalli and Kengeri as well as K R Pura and Whitefield will be accessible after 7 a.m.
By the end of August, the BMRCL aims to complete two gaps in the purple line (K R Pura to Baiyappanahalli and Kengeri to Challaghatta). Once it is operational, metro passengers will be able to traverse the entire 43 km length of the purple line from Challaghatta to Whitefield.
