In a groundbreaking development, Bengaluru is all set to witness the grand opening of its largest and multi-level interchange Metro station. By the end of 2023, Bengaluru’s Jayadeva Junction metro station on Bannerghatta Road is expected to be partially operational.

This station, which can accommodate 25,000 passengers at peak times, will be a stop on both the Pink Line from Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara and the Yellow Line from RV Road to Bommasandra. An underpass, grade road, road flyover and two levels of metro are all part of this enormous transportation hub.

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) stated that the construction of the Jayadeva Junction metro station is 90 per cent complete and the total constructed area of the station is about 19,826 metres.

The two new lines that are being considered for construction as part of Namma Metro Phase II include the Jayadeva Metro station, which will cost Rs 130 crore to construct.

Anjum Parwez, the managing director of BMRCL, stated that the Yellow Line, with 16 stations spread out over a 19-km stretch, including Jayadeva station, is scheduled to open by the end of the year. He also noted that this station will have a double-decker flyover, allowing people to travel without interruption from Ragigudda to Silk Board.
