For the development of Metro Line-6, which will link Swami Samarth Nagar, Jogeshwari, Vikhroli, and Kanjurmarg, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has asked for an extra 5-7 hectares of land close to the Kanjurmarg Depot site.

This proposal is in addition to the 15 hectares of land the state government has previously designated for the depot. According to a senior MMRDA official, the MMRDA is awaiting government approval for this extra property as well as approvals for constructing vehicle depots linked to other metro lines.
