For many passengers, travelling in an unreserved coach, especially on lengthy journeys, maybe a nightmare because of the cramped conditions brought on by overcrowding and a lack of basic amenities. By providing sufficient amenities for passengers riding in unreserved coaches, Indian Railways has set out on a quest to alter the experience.
Official sources claim that the Railway Board has developed a plan to ensure that passengers travelling in the General Second (GS) Class coaches, which are attached to the front and rear ends of all Mail and Express trains, have a comfortable journey. All Zonal Railways’ General Managers have been instructed to make sure that there are reasonable food options, drinking water, and vending machines close to unreserved coaches at all times.
