In order to build a green hydrogen plant close to its oil refinery in Panipat, India’s government-run Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC) has issued a global tender inviting foreign investors, according to company sources.
The company said that the investor would be required to construct a green hydrogen plant with a capacity of 10,000 mt per day, making it the largest such plant currently planned in the country.
The plant needs to be finished within 30 months of the contract’s award date.
The new green hydrogen unit is expected to be built on IDC-owned property close to the Panipat Refinery Complex, between the Panipat Refinery and Panipat Naphtha Cracker region. The winning bidder will guarantee a 100-unit supply of gaseous green hydrogen at the delivery site for sale by the other party.
