In order to investigate the possibility of selling 10 million tonnes of green hydrogen to European consumers who will then fund clean energy projects in India, India has opened discussions with the European Union.
European organisations would be able to establish sustainable energy projects in India and claim carbon credits in exchange, the industry stated, even though no deadline has been established for the plan’s implementation.
The goal is to export at least 70% of India’s output of green hydrogen because domestic demand will be low and exports are crucial to maintaining green hydrogen prices and protecting against domestic oversupply.
