Delhi Metro Silver Line: DMRC to open Aerocity Metro Station with the longest platform

The Aerocity metro station on the Tughlakabad-Aerocity Silver line, which is planned for Phase 4, will have the longest platform of any silver line metro station. As the station will be a triple interchange facility connecting the Airport Express line to the Delhi-Alwar Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) and the forthcoming Silver line, the length has been planned to support considerable passenger flow.

According to the DMRC, the platform at the Aerocity station will be 289 metres long, compared to up to 225 metres for the other subterranean stations on the Silver line. In order to give seamless connectivity to the other two lines and create a transit network linking Faridabad, South Delhi, and West Delhi to the Indira Gandhi International Airport, the station will also be constructed 23 metres underground.

There will be three entry/exit points at the Aerocity station, which is currently under construction. One would lead to Aerocity’s commercial district, while the other two will link Mahipalpur and NH-8 to the station.
