Central Railway to run two special trains between Mumbai and Velankanni

Central Railway will run two special trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Velankanni to clear the extra rush of passengers due to the Vailankanni Festival.

According to officials, train number 01161 special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 1 pm on August 26 and will arrive at Velankanni at 8.35 pm the next day. Also, train number 01162 special will leave Velankanni at 6 am on August 28 and will arrive at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 4.30 pm the next day.

In addition to this, train number 01163 special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 1.40 pm on September 6 and will arrive at Velankanni at 12.30 am on the third day. Similarly, train number 01164 special will leave Velankanni at 11.50 pm on September 8 and will arrive at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 7 am on the third day, officials said.

The halts for these trains include Thane, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Daund, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Wadi, Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Guntakal, Tadipatri Cuddapah, Renigunta, Katpadi, Vellore Cantonment, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Cuddalore Port, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur and Nagapatinan.

The train will consist of one First AC cum AC-2 Tier, One AC-2 Tier, Two AC-3 Tier, 11 Sleeper class and 7 General second class including 2 guard’s brake vans.
