CBI detains three railroad employees in connection with the Balasore train tragedy

Three people were detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday in connection with the tragic triple train catastrophe that occurred in the Balasore train accident in Odisha, which claimed at least 290 lives.

According to the reports, the CBI detained three individuals under Sections 304 and 201 of the CrPC: senior section engineer Arun Kumar Mohanta, section engineer Mohammad Amir Khan, and technician Pappu Kumar.

On June 2, one of the deadliest rail accidents in the nation occurred near Bahanaga Bazar railway station involving the Howrah-bound SMVP Superfast Express from Bengaluru, a goods train, and the Chennai-bound Coromandel Express.
